Social Media Officer (temp) - Rochford District Concil

Temporary (3 months), Fll Time

£16.66 to £19.9 per hor PAYE

Location: Rochford

Closing Date: 14th October 6

The role

We are looking for a creative and proactive Social Media Officer to join or team and deliver the Concil's priorities. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with a flair for creativity and a passion for digital commnications and storytelling.

This is a temporary 3-month position, working across Brentwood and Rochford on a hybrid basis.

Key Accontabilities
  • Create lively, engaging content across or social platforms inclding:
    1. High qality written content both short and long form
    2. graphic content and imagery for social media, newsletters and Intranet
    3. smartphone video and photography (recording and editing).
  • Schedle, pblish and monitor social media content, responding to or adiences in a timely, friendly and hman tone
  • Monitor media and social media coverage and report back as necessary.
  • Ensre the effective se and management of the Concils' social media channels.
  • Identify developments in social media and emerging new platforms, and sggest new approaches.
  • Collect, analyse and report on cstomer insight data for both organic and paid campaigns.
  • Spport other members of the Commnications Team to translate their campaigns into engaging social media content.
  • Design mltimedia assets for se on social media.
  • Deptise for other commnications roles within the team as reqired.
  • To ndertake any other dties which may reasonably be within the competence of the post holder.

  • The Experience Yo Will Bring
  • Experience of social media video, image and content prodction, to deliver engaging digital content.
  • Creative management skills to take an idea from concept throgh to delivery with camera, lighting, sond recording, and editing experience.
  • Strong experience in image and video editing
  • Experience reporting on social media and digital activity, identifying any trends
  • nderstanding of commnications in a political local government/pblic services environment
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet competing demands to tight deadlines, with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • nderstanding of managing social media content and schedling software in a bsiness sitation
  • Able to translate complex messages into simple, engaging content sing a combination of words and pictres.
  • Ability to create mltimedia assets, e.g. graphics sing Canva
  • Able to accrately proofread copy and pick p on errors
  • Good level of general edcation
  • Backgrond in commnications, jornalism, digital media, or relevant experience
  • Crrent valid Fll Driving License
  • A flexible working approach to attend both organisations in person, as and when reqired.
  • Able to work otside normal office hors if reqired to attend meetings and events
  • Adhere to the Concil's vales and behaviors
  • Commitment to maximising potential and continos improvement of self and of service
