We're looking for a
Senior Salesforce Architect to play a key role in shaping and assuring the Salesforce architecture that underpins our digital services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Ofgem's Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate and help design secure, scalable and user-centred solutions that support critical regulatory and operational services. You'll work across a complex technology landscape spanning Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Public Sector Solutions and the wider Salesforce Platform, ensuring solutions align to both business needs and strategic architectural principles.
As a senior member of our architecture community, you'll provide technical leadership, guide delivery teams, influence architectural decisions, and help define the standards and patterns that enable successful delivery across multiple programmes.
Job descriptionWhat you'll doAs a Senior Salesforce Architect, you will:
- Lead the design and documentation of Salesforce solutions across multiple programmes and delivery teams.
- Provide technical assurance to ensure solutions meet architectural, security and operational standards.
- Design scalable and secure integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms using modern integration patterns and APIs.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Developers and Technical Leads to guide technical decision-making and resolve complex design challenges.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities, ensuring informed decision-making across projects.
- Support the development and maturity of Ofgem's Salesforce Centre of Excellence, promoting best practice, reusable design patterns and architectural consistency.
- Mentor and support engineers and architects, helping to build capability across the organisation.
- Contribute to architecture governance, standards development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About youWe're looking for an experienced Salesforce Technical Architect with a strong track record of designing and assuring complex Salesforce solutions within large-scale enterprise environments.
QualificationsYou must hold, or be willing to obtain within six months of appointment:
- A formal architecture qualification such as BCS Enterprise Architecture Certification or an equivalent qualification.

Person specification Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience designing and leading Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds and domains. (Lead Criteria)
- Demonstrable understanding of core Salesforce Platform, Service cloud, community cloud and Public Sector Solutions. (Lead Criteria)
- Demonstrable understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and middleware for connecting Salesforce to enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in architectural modelling tools such as Archi and frameworks, such as ArchiMate, UML, or equivalent, with the ability to create and maintain architectural artefacts.
- Experience of applying secure design principles and data governance within Salesforce implementations.
Holds or can obtain the following certifications or equivalent within 6 months:
- Formal Architectural Qualification such as BCS EA Certification or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding government digital standards and architectural assurance processes.
