Job summary

The reproductive and childbirth Research Team is currently recruiting a Senior Research Nurse/Midwife to support the delivery and growth of our wide research portfolio.Location: St Jamess Hospital, Leeds Teaching HospitalsContract: full time (1.0 WTE), 18 Months, temporary contract. Secondment can be consideredThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse or midwife with a strong research background to join a high-performing and innovative team. Leeds is proud to host a portfolio of outstanding clinical trials, including studies where we are leading recruiters, offering a unique chance to be at the forefront of reproductive and childbirth research.The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination and delivery of clinical research, while also leading a dedicated team committed to excellence in care, safety, and patient experience. You will contribute to maintaining high standards in clinical care planning and delivery, ensuring full compliance with Trust policies, study protocols, and national research regulations.
Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research delivery. The successful candidate will bring proven leadership and people management experience, together with a strong understanding of research governance, clinical governance, and portfolio performance management. They will have experience in management and be able to use performance metrics to support the effective delivery of a busy and diverse research portfolio. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills will be essential, alongside a commitment to developing staff and delivering high-quality research.The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as requiredPlease see the attached job description for further information about this vacancy.

The Reproductive and Childbirth Research Team is recognised for developing a diverse and highquality portfolio across subspecialties, and for selecting research studies that make a meaningful difference to the Leeds population. In this role, you will: - Delivery of complex clinical trials exploring new clinical pathways and treatments, including large recruiting trials (Starship, Generations, BabiLeeds) and intense commercial trials -Ensure that clinical governance standards and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements are consistently upheld. - Take responsibility for managing a team of registered and unregistered staff, providing leadership, support, and oversight. - Be responsible of the finance and NIHR metrics of the portfolio Research and Innovation Department: Research is a core part of our mission at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Over the next five years, we aim to be a national leader in clinical research delivery. We are committed to fostering a strong research culture among staff and strengthening our infrastructure to support research and innovation.
What you will bring to the role
