Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated registered nurse to join the Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services (MMPS) team on a 12-month secondment. Based within the Trust-wide MMPS team, this role will support the delivery of medicines management, patient safety, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives across Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Working closely with nursing, pharmacy, medical and operational colleagues, you will lead and support a range of projects from development through to implementation, ensuring safe and effective medicines-related practices are embedded across clinical services.
Main duties of the job

This role is ideal for a senior nurse with strong leadership, communication and influencing skills who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and driving change. The successful candidate will have experience of leading service improvements, supporting clinical teams, developing policies and delivering education and training. In return, you will gain exposure to Trust-wide strategic projects, medicines safety initiatives and multidisciplinary working, offering an excellent opportunity for professional development within a highly respected and supportive team.

What you will bring to the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse who is passionate about patient safety, service improvement and delivering high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will bring significant senior clinical experience, alongside the ability to lead and support change across a large and complex organisation.

You will have:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Significant experience at Senior Sister/Charge Nurse level or equivalent.
  • Experience of leading and implementing change or quality improvement projects.
  • A strong understanding of medicines management, patient safety and clinical governance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of developing policies, procedures or clinical guidance.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, support and develop others.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to improve services and patient outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to improving clinical practice and patient care.
