What you'll do
As a Senior Architect at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in planning and defining the technical roadmap for your capability areas. Working closely with multiple engineering teams, you will shape and design new products and services that align with the overall architecture. You will create cloud-native designs for complex projects, iterating existing components or designing new ones from scratch. Collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers, you will explore and experiment with different solution options. Additionally, you will work alongside a Senior Engineering Manager to develop and communicate the technical architecture, roadmap, and strategy for your area of responsibility. Your influence will extend to guiding teams within your area to design and build components that deliver the roadmap, while promoting the adoption of technology principles. Sharing your expertise, learning, and design ideas within the broader architecture community, you will drive innovation and re-use across teams beyond your own. Your skills in working with Architecture Frameworks, evolving architectures, and modern engineering practises, combined with your strong communication and influencing skills, will contribute to the success of our innovative and collaborative culture.

As a Senior Architect for Sainsbury's, you are a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of architecture frameworks and the ability to simplify, modernise, and transform our business through innovative technology solutions. With your experience in evolving architectures and emergent design, you have the expertise to develop target and transition states that modernise and streamline our technology landscape. Your design experience, particularly in supply chain systems, enhances your ability to contribute to cloud-native designs and collaborate with product managers and engineers to explore solution options. With your strong knowledge of modern engineering practises and cloud-native design techniques, you play a crucial role in shaping and communicating technical architecture, roadmaps, and strategies for your area of responsibility.
