Safety Apprentice

We are looking for an apprentice to join our Safety team.

In this role you will be working alongside a team of experienced colleagues to support them in achieving Safety Plan objectives and keeping customer and colleagues safe. You will gain experience in different aspects of occupational and operational safety including change management, safety reporting, document control/record management, safety risk, auditing, emergency planning and security. This will help you develop your knowledge and skills to ensure you are prepared for a successful career at TranPennine Express. The role will also require you to support the team's administration tasks to a high standard and assist with compiling period reports and dashboards which are to be shared with the senior management team.

Contracted hours for this role will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will mainly be based at our Head Office, in Manchester City Centre, a short walk from Oxford Road station, with the potential for travel across the network. The role will commence 9th September 2024.

Interviews will be scheduled on 3 rd and 10 th July 2024 and the role will commence 9 th September 2024. Starting salary is £16,500.

About you

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, responsible individual with a positive attitude who is eager to learn and develop. The ideal candidate should have an interest in technology with an understanding of Microsoft or Windows knowledge, specifically Teams, PowerPoint Excel and Word. As you will be working with a variety of different colleagues, we are looking for someone with effective communication skills and a helpful team player with a passion for problem solving. Being able to spot problems and think creatively will benefit you in this position, a keen eye for detail is also a must.
