Job description

The Rokos School of Government (RSG) is being established to prepare a new generation of leaders capable of addressing the world's most complex challenges. Initially to act as the Dean's principal partner in establishing and rapidly scaling up the new RSG, the Business Operations Manager will lead the development of the RSG's core structures and systems and ensure effective operational delivery.

The post holder will design, recruit and lead the RSG's Professional Services team, they will advise and support the Dean in developing strategic priorities, and in building key external relationships. Over the first five years, they will help drive an ambitious growth plan - expanding education and research programmes, partnerships, staffing, and resources - to position the RSG as a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence.

Adept in networking appropriately, the post holder will develop and maintain constructive dialogue and communication with key contacts across the School, the wider University and externally in order to influence developments and promote and enhance RSG activities. The post holder will have extensive experience in senior administrative roles and operational management, a record of leadership and experience of managing and developing professional teams, significant experience of strategic financial planning and budget management and be able to deliver in a complex and devolved environment.

Candidates must have a degree level education or equivalent. You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise work, work to tight deadlines and have excellent people management and communication skills.
