Job description

Key Responsibilities:
      • D eliver accurate, timely and insightful workforce management information, dashboards and analysis that support evidence-based strategic and operational decision-making across the People Function.
      • Transform people data into clear, actionable insights by identifying trends, risks and opportunities that inform workforce planning, policy development and service improvement.
      • Maintain high standards of data quality, governance and compliance, ensuring people information is accurate, audit-ready and aligned with GDPR and Civil Service reporting standards.
      • Own and continuously improve people reporting processes and systems, including automation and dashboard optimisation, to enhance efficiency, usability and stakeholder value.
      • Act as a trusted analytical partner to People Operations, Senior People Partners and Service Enablement Hubs, providing clear narratives and advice to support organisational priorities.
      • Champion best practice in workforce analytics, data integrity and reporting capability across the People Function.
      • Provide secondary HR systems administration support, contributing to system resilience and continuity of service.
      • Act as Data Steward for designated workforce datasets, accountable for data quality, standard definitions and the resolution of data issues, ensuring consistent, reliable and compliant use of workforce data across dashboards, reports and statutory returns in partnership with HR Systems Administrators and operational teams.
      Person specification

      Essential Criteria:
        • (Lead Criteria) - Proven ability to interpret and analyse complex data sets.
        • (Lead Criteria) - Skilled in designing, producing and maintaining workforce reports and dashboards within a HR, People Services or comparable environment.
        • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms.
        • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
        • Ability to present complex data in a clear, concise and accessible way for non-technical audiences.
        • Professional qualification in data analytics, HR analytics, or similar discipline (or equivalent experience)

        Desirable Criteria:
        • Knowledge of data visualisation best practices.
        • Understanding of Civil Service HR policies, workforce planning frameworks and reporting standards.
