About the Opportunity

OurWater and Catchment Management & Maritime sector provides a focus for advising our clients ondelivering sustainable drainage, floodriskmanagementand civil engineeringsolutions. We also have a substantial ports and coastal portfolio of work.

Our team comprises more than 400 staffbased in the UK and Europe, but with reach into the Middle East, Australasia and America.

We are looking for Project Manager s to join us in offices all across the UK (Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Norwich, Peterborough, Warrington and Winnersh) and Ireland (Cork and Dublin)

You will have the opportunity to support a wide range of projects in the field water and environment for major public and private sector organisations, such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and water companies.

Your role will include:
  • Project management on a variety of water environment and engineering programmes and projects, taking responsibility for the safe delivery of our projects to meet programme and budget requirements, whilst maintaining high quality standards;
  • Contract administration, including invoicing, forecasting, schedule management, QA documentation;
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of your project team;
  • Planning and scheduling work;
  • Identifying and managing risk and change;
  • Reporting on performance;
  • Chairing internal and client project meetings;
  • Management and development of less experienced colleagues in the team; and
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing contracts and support sales opportunities across the wider business.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects. Our project portfolio spans the full lifecycle from feasibility studies through appraisal and optioneering to detailed design and site support, providing a wide range of opportunities to develop your experience and advance your career.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven ability to project manage a variety of projects types and sizes
  • Able to operate autonomously, with authority, skilled in developing and building relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience
  • Ability to develop, price and agree scope of services;
  • Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Ideally, here's what you'll also have:
  • Chartered or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEMor APM /PRINCE2 Qualifications
  • Good understanding of technical delivery within water management disciplines
  • Experience with the relevant statutory bodies e.g. Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and SEPA
  • Understanding of BIM
