About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes is one of the newest Business Units within Jacobs and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power.

Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. To do this, we are seeking to continuously employ talented individuals to join our diverse team that are excited about nuclear projects and are committed to Net Zero, and Energy Security.

We are recruiting for a number of Project Managers with a background in either Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering to work across our Nuclear Power Programmes in new build including Sizewell C (SZC) & Hinkley Point C (HPC).

You'll be responsible for overseeing all activities associated with the delivery of engineering contracts and securing resources that meet business and technical requirements, ensuring they're delivered safely, as well as on time and budget.
  • Overseeing the nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components dependant on the nuclear programme.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams on post financial investment contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices and technical specifications) at various stages of maturity.
  • Managing early engagement with stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to identify obsolescence issues and other risks
  • Managing the technical elements of the procurement process for specific contracts
  • Maintaining strong links with the project managers and engineers responsible for delivering equivalent scope on similar projects
  • For some projects, experience of the pre-tender and tender stages of procuring contracts for the design, manufacturing and/ or installation of industrial equipment.


Here's What You'll Need:

  • Typically, degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related subject.
  • APMP formal project management qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
  • Versed in modern project management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations; have an understanding and knowledge of engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction and installation/commissioning management and commercial contracting.
  • Identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable technical, safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate, run and chair project meetings (including regular progress meetings) as required and delegated.
