• Responsible for the effective delivery of key strategic Genomic data & digital programmes along with some Pathology projects where appropriate.
• To deliver all projects in full compliance with the Trust's PMO framework.
• Ensure delivery of key elements against agreed milestones, budget and timelines with demonstration of success, outcomes measure and key performance indicators.
• Responsible for programme planning, including project reporting, monthly highlight reports, updating the risk logs, producing exception reports and ensuring that all work remains on target to deliver agreed objective.
• Ability to work as part of a larger team and when required independently.

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Prince 2 Practitioner level

Desirable criteria

• MSP qualified
• ITIL qualified

• Theoretical Knowledge of Change Management Techniques
• Highly developed motivational, influencing and negotiating skills with proven success
• Well-developed presentation skills
• Advanced and proven programme management experience
• Excellent Report writing and budgeting skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills including delivery to tight deadlines
• Ability to prioritise conflicting demands
• Practical experience of applying and adapting Prince2 techniques
• Demonstrable leadership qualities
• Able to inspire and motivate staff at all levels
• Able to work as part of a team
• Self- motivated and able to work autonomously

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Experience of leading a team and working effectively across a range of clinical/ department areas.
• Experience of change management and overcoming resistance to change
• Evidence of successful completion of complex projects within set timescales
• Successful delivery of 3rd party supplier led projects
• Experience of managing data migration / integration projects

Desirable criteria

• Experience managing projects with a contract value of £1m or more in a healthcare setting
• Experience in Requirements Gathering

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our Staff

At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
