- Provide leadership for transformation/QI programmes, working and communicating with project stakeholders including Executive Directors, front line staff, patients and carers.
- Lead programme scoping events and workshops and provide facilitation for project team meetings.
- Able to present to and generate support from Executive Directors, senior clinical & research teams and colleagues across the Trust.
- Set programme timescales, managing milestones and overall successful completion of the programme.
Analytical and data management
- Lead on improving the methods of collection, analysis and presentation of data for improvement.
- Ensure that all programme and project records and information are maintained in a way that allows timely information to be available.
Planning, organisational & reporting skills
- Provide a detailed programme of work that drives the progress, and subsequently the implementation of all projects within the programme.
- Ensure that all projects within the improvement programme are provided with the appropriate level of implementation support throughout the project lifecycle.
Personal and Professional Development
- Take every reasonable opportunity to maintain and improve your professional knowledge and competence.
- Participate in personal objective setting and review, including the creation of a Personal Development Plan in conjunction with the Director of Transformation.
Clinical Governance
- Ensure that effective Clinical and Corporate Governance systems are embedded into any change process introduced across the Trust.
- Support service leads to undertake risk and equality impact assessments, in relation to current projects and proposed developments.
Person specificationEducation & Professional Qualifications Essential criteria - Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Masters degree or equivalent job related experience or post grad calibre
- Formal project management or Quality Improvement qualification or demonstrable experience of delivering projects
- Evidence of continuous personal development
Desirable criteria - IHI Improvement Adviser or Improvement Coach
Experience & Knowledge Essential criteria - The post-holder will require knowledge of a number of disciplines: programme & project management, improvement methodology, financial management, performance management, information systems
- Track record of successful engagement with clinical leaders
- Success in achieving substantial organisational change and implementing highly complex projects
Skills & Abilities Essential criteria - Ability to think strategically and act opportunistically to manage change
- Highly developed leadership, negotiation, communication and influencing skills and able to negotiate conflict effectively
- Evidence of effective team working with multiple multi-disciplinary teams and being able to foster good working relationships across multiple teams
- Able to present complex information simply to Executive Directors, Transformation Board, Divisional Management Boards and other Trust forums
- Able to design and develop programme reporting and communications for different audiences
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to Trust and NHS values
Desirable criteria - Experience in using Statistical Process Control
- Proficient in MS Visio

Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our StaffAt The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
