COMPANY: Sempra Homes Limited

RENMERATION: £5, per annm

TERM: Three years (reviewable on an annal basis)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Sempra Homes Chair spported by Company Secretary

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Jointly responsible for the overall effectiveness of Sempra Homes' development and delivery of the Company's bsiness plan.

ROLE REQIREMENTS: Sempra Homes Board meetings, working grops and other briefings as reqired.

TIME COMMITMENT: One to two days a month

Sempra Homes Limited is Basildon Concil's wholly owned, award-winning, sbsidiary hosing development company. The company's primary prpose is to provide homes for local residents throgh a range of different types of hosing and tenre and generate a financial retrn to the Concil as its sole shareholder.

The company was incorporated in 14 and has a sccessfl track record of delivery. It contines to develop and is at an exciting key point to review its long-term bsiness and financial strategies and develop a pipeline of hosing for delivery over the next five years across the Basildon borogh and wider Essex area sbject to Local Government Reform . The company's objectives will be revised as part of the company's new strategic bsiness plan and crrently are to:

Optimise the shareholder's financial retrns;

Maintain control of design and density of schemes and where possible achieve low-cost energy se by design;

Grow the portfolio over the next 5 years by a minimm of 1% per year;

Contribte to the development of a diverse hosing offer for borogh residents;

Encorage economic activity sing local bsiness and spply chains and provide borogh residents with training and learning opportnities throgh apprenticeships.

As Sempra grows its programme for the next five years, the Board needs to spplement its existing membership with external expertise, challenge and oversight, to ensre Sempra contines to florish and is seeking 3 x Board Members with Legal and/or Finance and Adit sector expertise.

There is also the opportnity for one of these roles to take on the Company Chair person role.

MAIN PRPOSE

The Board Member will work with the Chairman and Service Lead for Sempra to frther develop the overall strategic direction of Sempra Homes; developing and committing to its mission, vision and strategic objectives; and ensring the bsiness' contining financial viability.
