LOCATION - LONDON / LEICESTER / LEEDS or MANCHESTER

Our team (NALO - Noise, Air Quality, Lighting and Odour) of 30 multidisciplinary environmental consultants survey, assess and advise on specific situations, including acting as expert witness at hearings and inquiries. We typically undertake surveys then use innovative computer-based modelling techniques to predict noise, air quality, wind, odour, lighting or daylight/sunlight levels, and assess acoustic performance. Our clients include UK MoD, Sainsbury ' s, Amazon (Projects in UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland & Egypt), together with a variety of Local Authorities and Transportation, Retail, House and Commercial Building Developer Clients.

- Environmental noise and vibration, including assessment and developing mitigation measures for buildings, highways, mining and blasting and, complex scenarios

As a member of the lighting and daylight team you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects undertaking surveys, modelling and assessment for either environmental lighting, including the potential effects of lighting on and resulting from new developments, or the daylight, sunlight and overshadowing effects resulting from the construction of new developments. The projects the team work on range from small scale developments to larger scale residential schemes and major infrastructure construction sites, with a view to protecting existing residents in the vicinity of new developments, future residents of proposed schemes, and sensitive ecological species which may be affected by light spillage.

Whilst the main focus of this role is working on lighting and/or daylight assessments, there will also be an element of undertaking environmental surveys, sometimes involving overnight and occasional weekend stays.

- Manages own and others time to ensure that assigned work is completed to deadline and is of good quality. Where needed, stays extra hours to ensure deadlines are met - Maintains communication with colleagues and team members.

- Conforms to CDOP, policies and NALO procedures (including essential tasks such as timesheet completion) and promotes compliance to others.

Qualifications and experience:

- Degree qualified, or equivalent

- Some AutoCAD skills/experience desirable

- Experience of environmental lighting or daylight, sunlight and overshadowing desirable

- Due to environmental survey requirements the candidate must have good physical health, good hearing and olfactory acuity

- Must have good geospatial interpretation ability in order to find and identify precise locations

- Must be willing to work flexibly to tight timescales

- Able to use technical equipment on the field with minimum supervision

- A full driving licence is essential

- Follows relevant policies and procedures
