Job description

We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Corporate Services Team and who will report into the Head of Internal Audit. We are a supportive team which works closely with the wider organisation.

As a member of our Internal Audit Team you will help WWF deliver its mission by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes.

Day-to-day you will plan, organise and carry out audit reviews as well as communicate results and make suggestions to improve controls and truly add value to the charity’s processes. You will work with management to monitor the implementation of agreed audit actions. You will also carry out ad hoc investigations with support from your line manager, as well as advise managers on systems of internal control and risk management. The role is mainly UK based but also may include some travel to the offices WWF-UK funds abroad.

You will be AAT, Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors qualified or part qualified CCAB or equivalent, as well as experienced in undertaking internal audit reviews. You will have a good understanding of risk based internal auditing of both financial and non-financial systems. You will also be comfortable analysing complex information to provide impactful audit advice on risk management and control, and recording and reporting your findings.

As well as the above, you will possess good communication and negotiation skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and the flexibility to travel internationally for approximately two trips for two weeks each per year.

We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you. Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose. We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.
