About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

The Site Operations Infrastructure and Integration Service Manager reports directly to the Site Operations Manager and is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership, of all activities associated with life cycle delivery of the specific area[s] of work assigned to them. They are accountable for ensuring the efficient delivery of support services in accordance with all safety, quality time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the HPC construction project.

The Service Manager is the HPC Construction Site subject matter expert for their scope of work - and will be called upon to provide technical input during the planning, preparation and subsequent operations of their work area. The post holder will have direct line management responsibilities for the Site Operations Delivery Leads assigned to the specific areas of work for which they are accountable.

Key Responsibilities will be:
  • Lead the provision of critical site support services to a construction workforce of circa 10,500
  • Be directly responsible for budgetary control for contracts with values of up to £250m [full project lifecycle]
  • Directly accountable for ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with
  • Manage a range of multi-level stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • Assume delegated authority consistent with the management of the major contracts associated with the assigned scope of work
  • Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces with all other elements of the project.
  • Provide Assurance on weekly progress, driving recovery if necessary through the MDTs
  • Secure the required resource necessary to meet project requirements, and identify any personnel shortfalls or issues within the project team
  • Develop and execute effective strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan [PEP]
  • Anticipate and resolve any issues arising with the contract or package of works, identifying risks and facilitating their resolution.


Here's What You'll Need:

  • Degree standard education or recent relevant senior management experience working at a similar level in a related industrial setting.
  • Experience of working with and developing similar sized packages of work relating to expected budget of up to £250m.
  • Significant Management Experience on a construction site, other industrial plant or other high hazard industry.
  • Experience of working in a high security environment.
  • Managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven track record of delivery within a large project environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of positive stakeholder engagement [internally and externally].
  • Intellectual capacity to deal with complex issues - and work within our local supply chain vision, creating a one team ethos.
