About the Opportunity

AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of four major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries.

AXIOM provides process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd.

As well as having a large, dedicated team working for Sellafield Ltd, each has immense reach-back capability into parent organisations for knowledge, expertise and innovations gained from within, and external to, the nuclear industry. Examples of other markets include Oil and Gas, Environment, Mining and Aerospace.

You will be joining a large existing team that clearly understands the different requirements for optioneering, solution inspired, design decommissioning, operating plant asset care, infrastructure and new builds.

HAST (Highly Active Storage Tank) 9 Base Jacket Capping and Venting involves modification to the cooling water base jacket piping system. The HAST 9 Base Jacket Capping and Venting project is currently in the define phase.

The HF scope will be:

• Adhoc support to Safety & Risk Management (S&RM) and Operations Functions
• Assistance with Regulatory Engagement
• Identification / Management of HF Issues and Assumptions
• Checking of the Operational Safety Memorandum
• Production of a substantiation schedule & report
• Produce Scope & Strategy document
• HF support to Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs)
• Check safety functions requirements specification
• Provide confidence statement that safety function requirements can be met

Here's What You'll Need:

• Previous HF Assessor experience
• Significant experience providing integrated HF design and safety case support in the nuclear industry
• Sellafield experience would be an advantage
• Significant knowledge and experience working within the UK nuclear regulatory framework
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of integrated team
