About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of HSE for Transportation, you will be part of the Transportation HSE team which supports the wider portfolio and resource groups.
You will help to foster our Beyond Zero culture of caring and focus on continuous improvement, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to supporting our team and clients across transportation projects in our journey to HSE excellence.
From time to time you will be required to deputise for others within the team.
Whilst there is no set location for this role, it will require the ability to travel on occasion in line with business needs. Part time execution will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the HSE team to support delivery of HSE Objectives across the business.
  • Undertake monitoring and governance activities within projects for compliance with HSE legislation, standards (ISO45001), and Jacobs systems and procedures and raise concerns to the appropriate level as required.
  • Implements actions to transform our approach to H&S through the full project & infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Support and coach Project HSE teams.
  • Support our project and office locations- HSE Planning, Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work
  • Support to incident investigation, ensuring close out (including Intelex) and the lessons learned are communicated.
  • Develop and deliver H&S Training, such as Embracing Beyond Zero
  • Promoting best practice in all elements of HSE both internally and externally
  • A proactive and participative member of the wider HSE team
  • Promote our Business Management Systems and Culture of Caring
  • Contribute to the maintenance of our Work Instructions and management systems
  • Establishing and develop relationships with the rail teams, broader Jacobs community, clients and stakeholders


Here's What You'll Need:

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following:
  • Experience working within a HSE team
  • An excellent understanding of CDM and its application
  • People focused individual, understanding the importance of strong relationships and networks
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form to operatives, supervisors and management
  • Ability to influence teams to adopt the highest HSE standards
  • Proven ability and skills of developing and delivering safety related training to all levels of construction workers; including the ability to tailor and adapt the training material to suit the audience
  • Knowledge of national HSE legislation
  • TechIOSH or equivalent
