Hosing Disrepair Lawyer - Harlow District Concil

Location, Harlow

Fll time, Temporary

3Month Contract

£45-£55 per hor (mbrella) dependant on experience

Essex Conty Concil (ECC) are delighted to be spporting Harlow Concil to recrit a temporary Hosing Disrepair Lawyer.

Please note that this post reqires the sccessfl individal to be based on site 3 days per week.

Harlow is a district of contrasts and an ideal location to both live and work. The town itself is thriving, with excellent shopping and leisre facilities for all ages. We have good road links to the M11 and M5 and excellent rail connections to London and Stansted Airport, jst 35 mintes and mintes away from Harlow respectively.

Job Dties:
  • Managing a high volme of hosing disrepair claims, ensring all matters comply with legal and reglatory reqirements.
  • To provide legal advice, assistance and gidance to Concil client departments, Chief Officers Members and officers
  • Negotiating settlements as necessary
  • Representing the Local Athority in cort hearings, sch as directions and allocation hearings and instrcting Consel as necessary
  • Drafting legal docmentation pleadings and agreements.
  • Collaborating with srveyors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve disrepair isses efficiently.
  • Keeping p-to-date with hosing law and relevant case law to ensre compliance and best practice.
  • To ndertake any and all stattory and delegated dties as reqired.
  • To advance promote and assist in the shaping and development of the delivery of Legal Services.
  • To carry ot sch other dties as may be allocated time to time by the Director Legal & Governance and Principal Solicitor
  • To develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external partners and (as appropriate) with external professionals
  • To assist with the training and spervision of jnior staff or other officers within the legal department as reqired.
  • To keep informed of developments in areas fields of law of immediate concern to the Concil and to advise the Concil, Chief Officer, Senior Management, Client Departments, Officers Stattory Directors and Members as appropriate.
  • To ndertake other dties commensrate with the grade, skills, knowledge and experience of the post holder.
