About North London Hospice
Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware HA8 0AD, UK
Job description
The Role
Please note this is a bank/casual worker position.
The normal base location for this role is 47 Woodside Avenue, Finchley. However, during the refurbishment of our Inpatient Unit, the temporary base location will be Jade Ward, Edgware Community Hospital, Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware, Middlesex, HA8 0AD. The refurbishment is anticipated to last approximately 10 to 16 months, after which the role will return to its normal base location at Finchley.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our Inpatient Unit team at our Finchley site. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver high-quality, person-centred palliative care, supporting patients with their physical, emotional and personal care needs while promoting dignity, comfort and independence.
Key responsibilities include assisting patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration, recording clinical observations, maintaining accurate patient records, and reporting changes in patients' conditions to the nursing team. You will also support clinical procedures, contribute to pressure area care and infection prevention measures, assist with transfers and discharges, and provide compassionate support to patients and their families.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is caring, adaptable and committed to making a meaningful difference to people living with life-limiting illnesses. Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, although we welcome applications from individuals with the right values and a genuine passion for delivering excellent care.
