We are recruiting for a Group Resource Business Partner to ensure our firm is agile, motivated and delivering consistently by ensuring we have the right people on the right matters, at the right time. Given the growth, investment and belief in the function this is a very exciting time to join us and be part of that growth and help to deliver on the firm's people strategy.

We are currently integrating BigHand RM software into the Practice Group which is a key investment and will ensure that Resource Management will be at the forefront of the firm's strategic delivery plan.

Reporting to the Resource Manager you will be part of the Resourcing team supporting the RAS practice, playing an important role in supporting the implementation and delivery of RM services to ensure operational excellence.

Whilst there will be great opportunity to help inform strategy for the growth of the function, we are looking for someone that can pick up the day-to-day requests from the business. This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to manage fee earners at all levels and turn around requests efficiently and effectively. The team is spread over our UK office locations.

Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.

Candidate Overview

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:
  • Act as trusted advisor to the Group in respect of strategic manpower planning and resourcing
  • Attend regular operational management meetings/calls, providing management support.
  • Work closely with our pricing and legal project management teams
  • Optimise the allocation of work and the deployment of staff to maximise profitability by utilising RM software to:
  • Understand the capability of lawyers and partners in each office, including their preferences, development needs and objectives. Maintain knowledge of individual skills, development needs, experiences and personal / professional aspirations and apply this knowledge in resourcing decisions.
  • Ensure work is allocated to ensure pockets of high or low utilisation are minimised.
  • Create client teams for our major clients.
  • Ensure priority is given to high risk / reputational / critical work.
  • Working with Resource Managers to identify and reduce capacity within the Group.
  • Resolving resourcing conflicts by being creative and innovative in the use of resource as well as identifying possible issues before they escalate. Challenge requests and deal with potential resource escalations, making decisions on conflicting demands, as required.
  • Helping to implement systems and processes to advance the embedding of Resource Management locally within your practice group and across the firm.
