Purpose & Scope of the Role

We're seeking talented graduates to join our Fire Safety Engineering team in Warrington. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced fire safety engineers, contributing to the design and delivery of high-profile, technically challenging projects that play a critical role in supporting nationally significant infrastructure and high-hazard operations.

The team deliver innovative fire safety engineering solutions on multi-million-pound projects, applying bespoke engineering approaches to complex challenges in highly regulated environments. From the outset, you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, developing both your technical expertise and professional skills while being supported by experienced industry specialists.

Your Impact in this Position:

As a Graduate Fire Safety Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of projects across a diverse range of sectors and high-hazard environments. From concept design through to construction and operation, you'll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while helping to develop innovative solutions that protect people, assets, and critical infrastructure.

Working closely with experienced fire safety professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you'll contribute to the development of fire safety strategies, fire hazard analyses, and fire engineering and modelling assessments. You'll have opportunities to attend client meetings, participate in site visits, and support the delivery of technically complex projects, gaining valuable insight into both the engineering and consultancy aspects of the profession.

With the support of senior engineers, structured mentoring, and a comprehensive graduate development programme, you'll build the technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional confidence needed to progress your career. This role provides an excellent foundation for achieving professional chartership and developing into a trusted fire safety engineering specialist.

Programme Highlights:

• Central induction and ongoing support from your line manager and mentor.
• In-depth technical training in your core discipline, plus exposure to 15 technical and 8 interpersonal topics.
• Quarterly development reviews to track your progress.
• Opportunities to shadow senior colleagues and contribute to diverse projects.

Your Pathway: You'll be assigned a location, cost centre, line manager, and a 'home' technical discipline based on your qualifications and business needs. If you wish to explore a different discipline at the end of the programme, we'll consider this based on your interests and business requirements.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Partnership

As part of the scheme, you'll have access to the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online Bite Size programs. Choose from a range of topics- including Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data-Driven Decision Making - to build your leadership and management skills.

CMI Bite Size Benefits:

• Short, focused modules you can complete at your own pace
• Practical insights to strengthen your management capabilities
• Internationally recognised certification upon completion
• Option to progress to a Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management

Each program consists of three concise modules (totalling 85-135 minutes), scheduled in your second year. Complete activity sheets to demonstrate your learning and earn your Foundation Chartered Manager certification.

Qualifications

Must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a relevant degree in either Fire Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural/ Civil Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or other STEM courses.

This is a hybrid role, with three days per week in the Warrington office. You'll enjoy a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and work-life balance. Following initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete online psychometric testing designed to evaluate key competencies and problem-solving skills relevant to consultancy work. Those who progress beyond this stage will be invited to attend an in-person Graduate Day.
