ISR has a new position for a Head of Portfolio Engineering for Electronic Warfare. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work on an exciting range of high profile projects. To succeed in this role, you will have an engineering background, with a rounded knowledge of hardware systems, software and safety.

You could be working in Project Management and be looking to move into Engineering Management, or be working in Engineering and wanting to expand and diversify your experience, particularly in leadership. The most important thing is that you want to make a difference to ISR and you'll be confident to raise your own profile at BL and GBU level.

As part of the ISR Engineering Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to help develop the ISR Engineering Capability supporting the Engineering Director. Therefore, strong engineering leadership is an essential attribute in this role.

What you will be doing:

You will provide the team with leadership and management, spending time mentoring and developing your people, and you will be confident in decision making, sometimes when outside of your own knowledge or expertise.

You will also be involved in engineering management, defining and executing strategy and creating and maintaining the vision of how to get it done.

• Create a learning culture within the team to enable continually improving individual and collective performance.
• Establish and maintain an excellent relationship with the Portfolio Lead, providing them with support and counsel in order to meet the business objectives related to their portfolio.
• As a member of the ISR Engineering Leadership Team, pro-actively contribute to the evolution of engineering capability and performance whilst also ensuring the team provide any necessary support into your own portfolio.

What we're looking for from you:

You should be looking for a challenge across Engineering Management and Leadership. Using your ability to anticipate risks, identify delivery issues early, and mitigate through pro-active recovery plans to avoid cost/schedule/quality impacts, you will lead the Electronic Warfare Portfolio with confidence and considerateness.

Your sound commercial awareness and ability to balance technical with commercial needs will stand you in good stead to succeed. You will be able to demonstrate significant successful Engineering Leadership and Management competence and experience gained across the acquisition lifecycle with breadth across Systems, Software and Hardware Engineering.
