This opportunity is for our Thales UK Optronic & Missile Electronics (OME) organisation and directly contribute to the on-going development of the Land, Sea and Air products and systems. Defence and armed forces customers rely on us to deliver their full range of defensive systems. From night vision goggles, hand-held thermal imagers and weapon sights to surveillance UAVs and soldier-worn power and data solutions - our teams are endlessly supporting innovation evolution of a whole array of products!

We currently have a number of entry level opportunities across Engineering (Systems, Mechanical and Electronics). For this role, we are keen to hear from candidates who have recently graduated or maybe you have just started out in the Electronics domain and now looking for a new challenge in an exciting company where you can really develop and build a career.

The successful candidate will be a talented Junior Electronics Engineer based in Glasgow with interest in the span of the entire product lifecycle from requirements capture and analysis through to defining the system architecture and building, testing and verifying that the solution meets the customer's requirements.

The Electronics role requires working with the team to optimize the design through trade-offs, studies, analyses, modelling and simulation to produce a best-in-class competitive product.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the design of new circuit assemblies and systems
  • Supporting component selection and evaluation
  • Creating parts and BoM management
  • Updating electronic schematics
  • Testing and debugging of circuit assemblies
  • Design of system interconnects
  • Contributing to creation and review of high level system and design documentation
  • Attending testing and trials of equipment
  • Supporting compliance and regulatory testing of systems
