Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical support to for the diabetes in pregnancy service
  • Implement and support delivery of the education package to enable women to undertake blood glucose monitoring and recording of this with an application such as the GDM-Health app
  • Organise follow up visits and triaging of women who are on-boarded onto the GDM-health
  • Refer as appropriate any women to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with review of the women with diabetes in pregnancy in all inpatient and outpatient clinical areas as required

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife
  • Professional knowledge acquired through a degree or diploma, supplemented by specialist training


Desirable criteria
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Leadership qualification / relevant experience


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post registration clinical experience
  • Working experience in a clinical environment relevant to high risk pregnancies


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of developing policies and protocols
  • Experience of a family centred approach to the delivery of care
  • Experience of leading service development projects
  • Experience in disseminating work through presentation and publication
