In summary- • Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographer in their absence.
• Assist with workforce planning and daily operational management.
• Support staff development, appraisals and competency assessment.
• Lead elements of quality improvement and service transformation.
• Promote a culture of innovation, safety and continuous improvement.
• Support implementation of departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
• Contribute to radiation safety initiatives, dose optimisation and governance programmes.
• Act as a role model for junior staff and students.
Once Qualified as B7 reporting radiographer and competency sign-off, governance approval and independent reporting requirements are met:
• Independently perform and report Adult Contrast Swallow examinations within agreed scope of practice.
• Participate in reporting audit and peer review programmes.
• Contribute to development of reporting pathways and service expansion.
Provide specialist advice to referrers and multidisciplinary teams regarding Adult Contrast Swallow examinations.
• Contribute to protocol development and service improvement relating to fluoroscopy reporting.
