To demonstrate perspective taking when dealing with patients, customers and fellow staff alike so that all views are understood and considered

To undertake all radiographic duties efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

To ensure that all patients receive the best possible standard of care.

Commitment to ensuring own development by exposing self to all necessary modalities at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Assist with practical training of junior staff and student radiographers, acting as a role model through leading by example.

Communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the directorate.

Participate in the out of hours shift rota as required.

The post holder will be required to actively participate in a periodic professional development review, in accordance with Trust guidelines.

To undertake any other duties which may be appropriate to the post.

To offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced by themselves or more junior staff in the course of their role.

Person specification

Essential and Desirable

Essential criteria
  • BSc (Hons) Radiography / DCR (R) or accepted international equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Putting patients first
  • Broad general imaging experience at radiographer level
  • Proven acumen for approaching all situations with an open mind and 'can-do' attitude
  • Able to work well in a complex team
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Interest and willingness in teaching/training
  • Punctual
  • Ability to make decisions


Desirable criteria
  • Member of SOR
  • Interest in further study and CPD including research
  • Quality Improvement (QI), transformation or innovation training
  • Competent in specialist techniques such as CT cardiac scans and CT interventional procedures
  • Student supervision responsibilities
  • IV cannulation trained and competent
  • Broad general radiography experience at student / radiographer level
