Implementation/ Deployment Manager

High Level Job description

• Having overall responsibility for deployment activities to various ports around the UK and for two sites outside of the UK based in France and Belgium.
• Responsible for ensuring that the deployment is successful (meeting both customer and Thales expectations), efficient and consistent in approach across the various ports.
• The role will include resource management, supplier management, project management and include both pre-onsite and onsite activities.
• Key interfaces will be with the Thales Programme Lead and PMO Lead. the end customer, the port operators and both wider Thales team members and Suppliers associated with the delivery/deployment.
• Reporting to the Thales Programme Lead on a day to day basis.
• Reporting to the Implementation/Deployment Lead would be the Site Project Managers (Anticipated to be between 3 and 5 in number dependent on time period)

Required Skills & Experience:

Education/Certification:

• Degree Level Qualification in a suitable subject is desirable.

• Prince 2 or similar Project Management Qualification
• Must have or be able to get UK Security Check Clearance

Experience Level:

• 10 years experience of leading complex deployment projects successfully
• Proven track record of delivering results in a pressurised environment.
• Experience of working as a Supplier Project Manager with UK Government/ UK Home Office
• Experience of working on large integration/ deployment projects related to airports/sea ports/ rail ports.
• Experience of working on complex integrated HW and SW Deliveries.
• Experience of managing workpackage teams across multiple locations- both in and outside UK

Other factors:

• Anticipated to be based at/or within reasonable commute of Reading
• Office attendance anticipated during project
• Likely to involve quite frequent travel to multiple customer locations predominantly in UK
• Some travel to non-UK destinations- mostly Spain and France.
