Grade C - £31,373 (National Framework) or £36,775 (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home

Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week. We may also consider compressed hours.

Why this could be a great role for you….

You will support engagement with risk management across CQC. You will also provide advice and guidance to increase the quality of risk management conversations within teams and directorates and support the implementation of the organisation’s risk management strategy and principles across CQC.

You will support teams and directorates to develop their risk registers, ensuring comprehensive and insightful risk information is recorded, in line with risk reporting requirements.

What you will bring…

You will bring the ability to provide advice and support to colleagues at all levels in identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risk and help to embed risk management principles across CQC. You will have a thorough understanding of risk management, its importance and how it links to other areas of the organisation. You will also have experience of maintaining risk registers and providing training and support to colleagues.

Accountabilities:

  • To liaise with colleagues across the organisation to champion good risk management culture, practices, and behaviours throughout CQC.
  • To support implementation of risk management arrangements within relevant work programmes led by the Corporate Risk Manager.
  • To provide technical advice, guidance, and support training to CQC staff on risk management matters in line with risk policy and escalate matters to the Corporate Risk Manager when appropriate.
  • To communicate the importance and value of risk management throughout the organisation.
  • To support effective processes to identify, assess, manage, and report on risks to which the business is or might be exposed, in line with the risk management strategy and principles.
  • To provide advice, briefings, presentations, and written reports to various areas of the business on risk management.
  • To assist in the preparation of reports to the Executive Team, Audit Committee, Board, and others receive comprehensive and insightful risk information.
  • To support the maintenance of risk registers across the organisation, in particular at directorate and team level, ensuring risks are understood, managed in line with the Risk Management Framework and escalated accordingly.
  • To utilise evidence, information, data, and intelligence to assess risks within the organisation and support their risk owners to determine actions and responses.
  • To carry out any other duties or deputise for the Corporate Risk Manager, including attending meetings on his/her behalf.
  • To role model inclusive behaviours in everyday interactions.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least two years’ experience of working in a risk management or similar role.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience facilitating workshops / risk exercises for staff.
  • Robust diligence and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with little management oversight.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of embedding risk management practices across organisation.
  • Previous experience of completing risk assessments and developing and implementing risk mitigation plans.
  • Familiarity with common risk analysis techniques
