Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Full GMC Registration OR eligibility for full registration
• Medical Degree (MBChB or equivalent)
• Fellowship of the Royall College of Radiologist OR International Equivalent
• Specialist registration for radiology (CESR or CCT) or within 6 months of CCT.

Desirable criteria

• Post Graduate Degree or Diploma

Experience

Essential criteria

• Evidence of training in core radiology (UK CCT or equivalent)
• Evidence of training in MSK radiology

Desirable criteria

• Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship

Clinical and Technical Skills

Essential criteria

• Wide experience of all aspects of diagnostic MSK including CT, MRI, USS & fluoroscopy
• Experience in arthrograms and basic MSK intervention
• Experience of participating in tertiary level MSK MDTs

Desirable criteria

• Experience of whole body MR imaging in genetic disorders (e.g. NF1)
• Experience in advanced MSK interventional techniques e.g. soft tissue/bone ablation

Communication Skills

Essential criteria

• Excellent team working skills
• Fluent English speaker

Research

Essential criteria

• Knowledge of research design, protocols and desire to be involved with research projects

Desirable criteria

• Peer review publications

Motivation

Essential criteria

• Highly motivated with an appetite to lead and make changes to services

Personality

Essential criteria

• Ability to work well with the radiology team and within the multidisciplinary team
• Self-motivated and good problem-solving abilities
