Detailed job description and main responsibilities Candidates must hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or an equivalent qualification and must either be on the Specialist Register, or in possession of a CCT at the time of taking up the appointment. However the department is delighted to entertain expressions of interest from individuals who will be within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview .
The post will be primarily located at the Queen's Medical Centre campus although the successful applicant will be required to provide sessions at the sites where we provide an MSK Radiology service.
A successful applicant would be required to be part of a dedicated MSK on call rota, which will have a frequency of 1:10.
Person specificationProfessional registration Essential criteria - Full GMC registration
- Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register
- CCT expected within 6 months of interview date
Professional Qualifications/Development Essential criteria - FRCR (or equivalent)
- Completed subspecialty training in musculoskeletal radiology
Desirable criteria - Fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology
- MRCP,MRCS or higher qualification
Clinical skills/experience Essential criteria - Evidenced technical skills as described in the job description
- Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
Desirable criteria - Specific training in communication skills
- Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors
Commitment to Trust Values and Behaviours Essential criteria - Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's "The Way We Work Together" behavioural standards
Management Skills Essential criteria - Able to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service development/delivery.
- Able to delegate appropriately.
- Able to work in a team.
Desirable criteria - Higher management degree or qualification or training
- Experience of change management
Personal Skills/Qualities Essential criteria - Able to work flexibly in a changing health service
- Able to use the Trust's IT support systems
Teaching, Audit & Research Essential criteria - Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit.
- Able to teach and support junior staff effectively.

- Higher teaching degree or qualification or training
Practical Requirements Essential criteria - Ability to travel between City Hospital Campus and Queen's Medical Centre campus
- Evidence of Level 3 Safeguarding Children (Paediatric positions only)
