Job summaryApplications are invited for a hybrid Consultant post with a 60:40 split between Acute and Community Paediatrics. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of Acute Consultant Paediatricians and Community Paediatricians across North West Wales.
This new post has been created as part of a service restructure following a colleague's move to flexible working arrangements and another colleague's retirement. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will bring a specialist interest in allergy, along with a willingness to take on a lead role in palliative care within acute children's services.
As part of the recruitment process, applicants who are successful at shortlisting will be invited to attend a Stakeholder Interview on 24th September 2026 and an Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC) Interview on 25th September 2026.Main duties of the jobManagement and Clinical GovernanceThe successful applicant will:o Be responsible for the management, appraisal, and supervision of Doctors under their supervision.o Maintain personal and professional development. The post holder will register with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health for the purpose of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and to fulfil the requirements of that registration.o Provide expert advice, when required, to the Executive Team, Board, General Practitioners, and other relevant stakeholders on the planning and delivery of clinical services at local, regional, and national levels. This will be carried out in accordance with confidentiality agreements related to Health Board business.o Co-operate in the present agreed framework of management arrangements in the Health Board.o Actively engage in the Health Board's clinical governance processes, including participation in clinical audits and research where appropriate.o Collaborate with colleagues and the Health Board to pursue agreed objectives, and fully support the implementation of outcomes to promote best practice.o Participate in consultant appraisal and job planning reviews.o Ensure that all intellectual property rights of the Health Board are observed

Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential - Full GMC Specialist Registration in Paediatrics or within 6 months of obtaining CCT from date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application
