Job summaryThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly regarded team, working in collaboration with existing Consultants and within a wider multi-professional team.
As part of an enthusiastic and well trained team you will work alongside the Consultants, Specialist Registrars, Speciality doctors and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Post holder will rotate to between RSUH and County hospital.
You will be expected to share duties and responsibilities with other middle grade doctors. In addition you will be required to participate in audit, teaching, training and research in this field. A job plan will be discussed and reviewed with the successful candidate .
Main duties of the jobThe appointee will be a member of a team of 13WTE Consultant Oncologists, 2WTE Consultant Medical Oncologists and 11WTE Consultant Haematologists delivering a comprehensive Oncology and Haematology service to the population of North and South Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
There will be service commitments in the Cancer Centre at both Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital site. The Oncology Department has some commitment to Undergraduate teaching, and you will be expected to participate in this, as well as Postgraduate teaching and training.

- Possession of MRCP and FRCR or equivalent qualification in medical oncology
- Entry on Specialist Register or in U.K. training scheme and within 6 months of award of CCT at time of interview.
- Obtained CESR already or Application in progress through Portfolio Pathway for Specialist Registration
Desirable Academic Achievements, Research, Publications Essential - Evidence of training in research methodology.
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
- An awareness of current speciality specific developments, initiatives and issues
Desirable - Publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals in the last five years
