Job Title: Compliance and Operational Risk Specialist - FICC FX and LCT coverage

LOB: Compliance & Operational Risk

An opportunity has arisen for a Compliance and Operational Risk Specialist to join our wider Compliance & Operational Risk space in the London office. We are looking for a candidate that has Compliance experience, preferably with Fixed Income product knowledge in particular of either the Credit or Rates markets (we have two openings so the successful candidate will join one product coverage area). This will be a unique opportunity to provide both compliance and operational risk coverage to a number of FICC LOBs and learn about the wider business too.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Develop effective working relations with Front Line Unit ("FLU") personnel and associated control/support departments in the region
  • Participate in the review and challenge of operational errors to ensure appropriate mitigation actions are captured
  • Provide effective challenge to First Line of Defense and Risk Self Assessments to identify risk and control issues and drive risk mitigation action
  • Participate, as required, in internal investigations into potential breaches of regulatory/exchange requirements or firm policy
  • Participate, as required, in department initiatives in respect of regulatory/exchange developments and impact analysis on the firm's business and support groups
  • Assist with the review of new business initiatives,including non-standard transactions and desk new product review
  • Assist in preparing for regulatory visits
  • Review potential instances of market abuse when this is brought to your attention by Enterprise Independent Testing through surveillance activity undertaken and/or escalated directly by the FLU, including considering and working on suspicious transaction and order reports
  • Work closely with other regional Compliance and Operational Risk teams to ensure consistency in approach and best practices
  • Review/update Compliance policies and ensure they are consistent with global and local regulatory practices
  • Assist with the development of new and/or update existing Monitoring and Testing items for the Compliance and Operational Risk Program from a local and global perspective
  • Assist with the development and delivery of Compliance and Operational Risk training, both face-to-face and on-line
  • Keep abreast of regulatory change/developments

The Team:

Responsible, with others, for the provision of day-to-day Compliance & Operational Risk coverage support for designated front line units within the Fixed Income business lines located in London. Coverage will be for either Rates, Short End Trading and Counterparty Portfolio Management or Credit and Mortgages.
