About the role

The University of Leicester is seeking to appoint co-opted members to join its Investments Committee.

For 100 years, theUniversity of Leicester has been changing the world through world-leadingresearch and research-inspired education. As we look towards our secondcentury, we are seeking an experienced investment professional to join ourInvestment Committee as a co-opted member.

The InvestmentCommittee plays an important role in overseeing the University's endowed fundsand investments, monitoring investment strategy, allocations and performance,and reports to the University's Finance and Infrastructure Committee. Previous experienceof serving on an investment committee, advisory board or equivalent body wouldbe advantageous.

We are particularlyinterested in individuals with substantial practical experience of investmentmanagement, including listed equities and private equity, together with strongcommercial awareness of UK and global investment markets.

As a co-optedmember, you will bring independent judgement, constructive challenge andspecialist insight, helping to support the effective stewardship of theUniversity's investments and long-term financial sustainability.

Practical details
• Time commitment: Up to 4 full days per year
• Meetings: Typically four meetings per year
• Location: Hybrid (meetings held in Leicester with remote attendance available)
• Remuneration: Unremunerated (reasonable expenses reimbursed)

About you

What we're looking for

We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring:

• Significant knowledge, understanding and front-line experience of investment management, in listed equities and private equity;
• Commercial awareness and acumen in relation to UK and global equity markets;
• Knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education Sector (desirable);
• Awareness of philanthropic fundraising (desirable).
• Previous experience of serving on an investment committee, advisory board or equivalent body (desirable)
• A commitment to the University of Leicester values of inclusivity, impact and inspiring
• A commitment to the values and mission of higher education
