Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria - N.N.E.B./ BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria - Educated to Diploma level in a health-related subject.
Experience Essential criteria - Experience of working with children and families in a formal health, educational or social care setting
- Evidence of ongoing training in Early Years
- Experience of working as a team member and on own
Desirable criteria - Experience of leading group work
- Experience of working in the NHS
Skills Essential criteria - Basic skills in numeracy and literacy.
- IT skills including Word, Excel.
- Ability to assess a situation, identifying any risk or potential problem and act appropriately.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children
- Knowledge of normal child development, parenting skills and the importance of play.
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Able to make and record observations of children's
- Behaviour and development
- Ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and put them into practice
- Enthusiastic proactive and motivated, uses own initiative
- Maintains high level of confidentiality

Key Attributes Essential criteria - Must be able to travel across Borough using any method of transport.
- Must be able to negotiate stairs and carry equipment required for the role.
