Job Introduction
The Digital England team is a cross-disciplinary team of editorial digital specialists within BBC News. The team brings together online journalists in News and Sport, social media leads and live content specialists to provide digital coverage of the best stories from across the country.

Role Responsibility
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the ER Data Unit and Digital England to bring our stories to life through data.

Devising and executing data journalism projects from idea to delivery alongside editorial colleagues and presenting data across BBC News platforms

Providing support to editorial colleagues on content involving data and helping spread the understanding of the discipline through best practice

The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced journalist and a self-starter, brimming with story ideas, comfortable with statistics and have the expertise to delve beneath the headline figures to deliver the whole story to our audiences.

You will be expected to have your own original ideas on how to best apply data-driven journalism - either to complement news stories or to identify original stories..

You should be excited about developing the way that data is interpreted and presented on the web, from heavy number crunching, to dynamic mapping and interactive graphics.

6 month attachment/fixed term contract.  Please ensure you have your line manager's approval to apply for an attachment.
