About North London Hospice

Barrowell Grn, London N21 3AY, UK

Job description

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Bereavement Coordinator to join our Bereavement Service, based in Enfield with travel across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey as required.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support bereaved relatives, carers and families following the loss of a loved one. Working closely with the Bereavement Services Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, you will help coordinate the delivery of our bereavement service, ensuring people receive timely, sensitive and person-centred support throughout their bereavement journey.

Key responsibilities include coordinating referrals and appointments, maintaining service user records, providing practical support and signposting, supporting the delivery of bereavement groups, and liaising with volunteers. You will also assist with volunteer recruitment, induction and ongoing support, contribute to service development activities, and help ensure safeguarding concerns and risks are identified and escalated appropriately.

This role would suit someone with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who is passionate about supporting people through difficult circumstances. We are looking for an empathetic and proactive individual who can build positive relationships, work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers, and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality bereavement service.

The Hospice

At North London Hospice, we've been caring for our community with compassion, dignity and respect since 1984. We empower people living with life limiting illnesses, supporting them to achieve the best quality of life possible.

As a registered charity, our mission is to provide the best of life, at the end of life, for everyone. From our Inpatient Unit in Woodside Avenue to our extensive work across the London boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, our care reaches throughout the local community. Our teams provide specialist palliative support through Living Well services, Community Specialist Palliative Care, and dedicated Patient and Family care that offers emotional, practical, and holistic support to those who need us most.

Joining our passionate clinical team means becoming part of a supportive, respectful, and collaborative service committed to delivering exceptional, person centred care in a truly meaningful role. If you're driven by compassion, value holistic and individualised care, and bring palliative care experience - or are ready for a fulfilling new challenge - we would love to hear from you.
