About North London Hospice

Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware HA8 0AD, UK

Job description

The Role

At North London Hospice, we are committed to providing outstanding specialist palliative care that helps patients with life-limiting illnesses achieve the best possible quality of life. We are looking for compassionate and skilled Bank Doctors to join our multidisciplinary team and support our specialist services across both our Inpatient Unit and Community Specialist Palliative Care teams.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care across a range of settings. You will undertake holistic assessments, support the management of complex symptoms, work closely with patients and families, and contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making. The role involves supporting care within the Inpatient Unit, community services and out-of-hours provision, ensuring patients receive compassionate, person-centred care when they need it most.

Working alongside experienced consultants, specialist nurses and wider colleagues, you will play an important role in delivering safe, effective and coordinated care. You will also contribute to clinical governance activities, quality improvement initiatives, education and service development, helping us continuously improve the care we provide.

During the refurbishment of our Inpatient Unit at Woodside Avenue, inpatient services are temporarily based on Jade Ward at Edgware Community Hospital. Successful candidates may therefore work across a variety of North London Hospice locations and community settings.

We are looking for doctors who are committed to high-quality palliative and end-of-life care, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate compassion, professionalism and respect in every interaction. You will be adaptable, collaborative and motivated to work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting patients and families through some of the most important moments of their lives.

The Hospice

At North London Hospice, we've been caring for our community with compassion, dignity and respect since 1984. We empower people living with life limiting illnesses, supporting them to achieve the best quality of life possible.

As a registered charity, our mission is to provide the best of life, at the end of life, for everyone. From our Inpatient Unit in Woodside Avenue to our extensive work across the London boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, our care reaches throughout the local community. Our teams provide specialist palliative support through Living Well services, Community Specialist Palliative Care, and dedicated Patient and Family care that offers emotional, practical, and holistic support to those who need us most.

Joining our passionate clinical team means becoming part of a supportive, respectful, and collaborative service committed to delivering exceptional, person centred care in a truly meaningful role. If you're driven by compassion, value holistic and individualised care, and bring palliative care experience - or are ready for a fulfilling new challenge - we would love to hear from you.
