About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

We are recruiting a number of Assistant Project Managers with a background in either Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering to support the supply chain team, the Responsible Designer (RD), the Sizewell C (SZC) Quality Team and the suppliers to prepare for and execute the delivery phase of the Sizewell C Project.

Locations will be Suffolk, Bristol and London with Hybrid Working

Principal Accountabilities
  • Take a global overview on SZC with a view to maximise replication from Hinkley Point C (HPC) and prepare for key contracts to be awarded
  • Be responsible for the timely delivery of engineering studies by the RD or by key contractors and for ensuring they meet the needs of the SZC project
  • Manage the multidisciplinary team through the procurement process for specific contracts
  • Manage the multidisciplinary team in the preparation of specific contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices including technical specifications)
  • Drive the implementation of SZC site-specific design changes into the design deliverables in the contracts and systems
  • Manage internal interfaces (between contracts and systems within the Programme) and external interfaces (with other Programmes) to ensure a coordinated approach to design and delivery
  • Ensure that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP)
  • Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme
  • Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements
  • Ensure that contractual requirements are fulfilled


Here's What You'll Need:

  • Demonstrate success coordinating multi-disciplinary design/procurement work and driving design/procurement teams to deliver on time
  • Project management or project engineering experience, from concept to handover
  • Good understanding of the complexity of major projects, including interface management between scope areas
  • Previous engineering or project management experience in the nuclear industry.
