An opportunity to join the Thames Valley Police Procurement team as an Assistant Procurement Manager, where you will play a key role in supporting strategic sourcing within the Operational Category, managing existing contracts and ensuring operational efficiency and cost savings are provided to the force.

Working within the Procurement Services Team Operational Category the overall purpose of the role is to undertake all day to day tendering and commercial contract management activities in line with national regulations, local financial instructions, objectives and the procurement service performance indicators ensuring that designated contracts with 3rd party suppliers are proactively managed to maximise benefits for the force, while effectively identifying and mitigating commercial, operational and compliance risks. The role supports the delivery of strategic objectives by ensuring that supplier performance, contractual obligations, and service outcomes are consistently achieved and improved upon. The Operational Category encompasses but is not limited to Uniform, Physical Forensics, Catering, Custody, Healthcare and First Aid requirements across the Force. Significant changes to the structure of UK Police Forces are coming and this is an exciting time to join a proactive procurement team that will be involved in the development and evolution of local and national procurement strategy.
