Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 4 GCSE (C and above including Maths and English) or equivalent


Desirable criteria
  • RSA Stage III (or equivalent) in word processing/ typing
  • DSE Assessor


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Development and maintenance of robust systems to ensure effective administration and organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an office environment
  • Demonstrable confidence/experience in Business Admin
  • Taking minutes
  • Evidence of using audio transcription to type minutes / documentation
  • Diary Management
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Good communicator - written and oral
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Intranet and Internet and other relevant computer applications
  • Ability to deal confidently and directly with all members of healthcare teams and members of the public


Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within departmental guidelines/SOPs
  • Pride in establishing and maintaining high standards of work and attention to detail
  • Demonstratable experience of working in an office environment within a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of NHS policies
  • Knowledge and experience of the hospital e-mail system
  • Experience of preparing and managing rotas
