Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentWe have always championed flexible working at Camden, in March 2014 Camden Council became the country’s first ever Timewise Council. Camden is one of a number of public and private sector organisations that have linked up with Timewise with a shared objective of supporting and promoting flexible working as one way to improve workplace equality and reduce maternal unemployment.
Our staff have benefitted from working a range of flexible patterns as well as Agile working. However, as we emerge from the pandemic, we have learnt a lot about remote working at Camden and we are now looking at what this means for us long term and the future of how we will work.
The future of work
We want our buildings to be spaces for connection and collaboration.
For lots of us, the way we work in the future will be different to before the pandemic. We want our buildings to be places you come to with purpose – to connect with colleagues face-to-face, to think through projects and ideas in person and to interact with our communities and partners for example.
The move to a hybrid working model
Our staff have told us that working more flexibly has been liberating and helped to strike a better work/life balance, enabling them to better juggle caring or childcare responsibilities and to better manage health and wellbeing. This is something we want to maintain in the future, and the majority of colleagues will be working from home more in the future than before the pandemic.
There's huge potential for us as we emerge from the pandemic and we don't want to go back to the way we worked before – but to hold on to what we've learnt about ourselves throughout the pandemic and make the most of the new opportunities available to us.
We want to create a more inclusive working environment – where everyone has an opportunity to contribute equally, connect and thrive.
Share your experience, tips and advice with other job seekers on how they can land their dream job. The best contributions will get published!
