We can all experience times in our lives when our mental health is not at its best and, like physical health, this can have a big impact on our lives.
Healthy Mind - Cambridge Assessment's mental wellbeing programme is designed to help us reduce the stigma around mental wellbeing and to allow access to information, support and training for all our employees and the people around them.
Courses are running for line managers and for employees to find out more about how to help and support mental wellbeing. All our training is supported by Mind.
What happens if?
Sometimes the hardest part is telling someone what is going on or trying to approach someone. We've put some simple guides together to help those who need it.
There are a wealth of resources internal/external, video and apps.
Healthy Mind Ambassadors
Sixteen volunteers from across the Group have attended a two-day Mental Health First Aid training programme run by Mind in order to take on the role of Healthy Mind Ambassador at Cambridge Assessment.
The Healthy Mind Ambassadors are available to anyone experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. They can be contacted in person or via phone/Skype to provide a non-judgemental listening ear and, where necessary, can assist individuals in seeking appropriate help by signposting them to the range of support services available, both internally and externally. The Healthy Mind Ambassadors can also provide support and help if someone is experiencing a mental health crisis.
The Ambassadors are not there to act as on-site therapists, but can offer initial support to those experiencing symptoms of mental ill health, managing an existing condition, or having a mental health crisis. The Ambassadors give first aid with the view that the individual will seek out professional help if necessary.
