Black Partner Network at Starbucks

We live in an era of cultural change with racial inequalities impacting communities and work environments; governments and employers often declare their commitment to improve racial equality and encourage diversity yet a vast inequality still exists. The Starbucks Black Partner Network aims to help lead and celebrate Black heritage, history and cultural awareness by nurturing the culture of inclusion and celebrating diversity with the intention to develop an environment where black partners can excel and reach their full potential. The partner strategies and recommendations are set to help to spur the roadmap to change and support Starbucks EMEA in driving positive change for the community.

This network is aiming to measure its success by providing targeted activities for key events that celebrate the black community and culture such as:

‘Windrush Day’ on 22^nd June

‘Notting Hill Carnival’ on 29^th and 30^th August

‘Black History Month’ during the month of October

Also by establishing a partnership with social change agencies in order to support the external black community and by expanding the EMEA Black network, enlisting partners beyond the support centre.
