The Solicitors Regulation Authority is the regulator of solicitors and law firms in England and Wales. We regulate more than 130,000 solicitors in England and Wales. Our aims are to give the public full confidence in the solicitors' profession and to serve the public interest and protect consumers of legal services.

Our purpose is to protect the public by:

  •  ensuring that solicitors meet high standards, and

  •  acting when risks are identified.
