“Firstly the people are what makes the organisation, I work in the Major Events department and interface mainly with logistics, officials coordinators and marketing/communications (media).
It is a fast paced environment going from event to event but with the help and support of the team, we thrive together and we do what we do best and stage world class events for the public and athletes/athlete support alike. It has opened up doors for me which I could never have imagined, I have worked on IAAF World Championships London 2017, IPC World Para Championships, and currently working on a home World Indoor Champs here in Birmingham.
I have also met world and Olympic champion/ world record holders and as a fan of the sport is incredible in itself, what other job in the world can people say that! These are just a few small examples of why I enjoy working for UKA, every day is different and every event is also, I have an incredible supportive and motivational manager that further pushes and inspires me.”
