The RIDI Awards 2018 are now open for entries

With ten categories to choose from, the RIDI Awards can expect a vast array of organisations from different sectors among the nominations for 2018. VERCIDA has taken the opportunity to support these widely recognized awards.

The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has one purpose: to break down the barriers faced by the millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market.

RIDI believes more needs to be done to build disability confidence into recruitment and employment strategies and campaigns actively to achieve this.

Organisations across the UK are turning their buildings purple on Sunday 3rd December (2017) as part of ‘The Purple Light Up’ to correlate with International Day of people with disabilities. 

Finding a job is at best challenging for disabled people, that’s why VERCIDA’s Director and RIDI Awards judge Morgan Lobb is delighted to take part in the new series of Employable Me that aired on BBC2 this past November. The program documents the struggles people face when trying to find work whilst living with a disability, neurological conditions or physical differences. The moving series follows individuals who are determined to reach their full potential in the working world despite the difficulties they face day-to-day. The documentary aims to change perspectives among recruiters and employers.

VERCIDA remains passionate about the inclusion of disabled people within the work-place, taking part in documentaries and being invited to join judging panels is an honour.
