The FA's Ramadan Guidance for Players, Coaches and Staff

Category: Religious & Spiritual Beliefs

Religious Beliefs

We have published guidance to support participants and employees across the footballing community during the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Friday 28 February and will last until Sunday 30 March 2025.

Ramadan in 2025 runs from Friday 28 February until Sunday 3 March

The guide includes information on how fasting and other lifestyle changes during this period may impact participants across adult and youth football, with advice on exercise and nutrition for practising Muslims, as well as guidance for non-Muslim players and staff to ensure their footballing environment is as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

The guidance, which can be viewed here, was created with input from Nujum Sports, and aims to answer many of the questions that players, coaches and administrators may have around Ramadan and how it might affect football at any level.

We will celebrate Eid at the end of Ramadan with an event at Wembley Stadium, with more details to follow.
