Santander & TfL Wrap Up in Rainbow to Commemorate Pride

By modifying parts of the transport network with a brand-new rainbow design, Santander & Transport for London (TfL) are commemorating Pride. These designs have been specifically created to spread awareness and show their support for the LGBT+ community. This is aligned with the other activities taking place in this month and is one of the biggest ever campaigns.

The bold and strong new design attracting attention to #LoveIsLove can be observed above the Oxford Street entrance of Tottenham Court Road Station. It has also been included into numerous rainbow roundels at Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Piccadilly Circus Tube stations.

The Mayor of London Gives Credit to Diversity for a Vibrant London

Anybody who is hiring a Santander Cycle stands a chance of riding on one of 50 bicycles sporting a rainbow livery decoration on their read mudguards. The design demonstrates and celebrates the capital’s support for Pride and the LGBT+ community. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said that in London, everyone has the freedom to love whoever they want to love and be whoever they want to be.

He added that this is one of the reasons why his city is often viewed and recognised as one of the beacons for the LGBT+ community. Also, this diversity is the reason behind the city’s flourishing, vibrant LGBT+ scene and one that is always bursting with so much colour. All of this contributes towards the larger than life image and soul of the city of London.

Commuters Will Be Greeted by Rainbow Colours Across the Capital

Commuters making their way across the city are going to be greeted by vivacious rainbow colours taking pride of place on Santander Cycles around Soho. This is going to send a really strong message of support to the entire gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual community of London.  

The Chief Innovation and Customer Officer at Santander, Sigga Sigurdardottir, said that London is a city that has championed diversity and inclusion for a very long time. He said that they are extremely excited to play a role in the celebrations and are hoping that the local residents, as well as, visitors to the city are going to thoroughly enjoy exploring the capital on one of their rainbow coloured Santander cycles.

Vehicles Wrapped in Rainbow Colours is Only One Piece of the Big Celebrations

Sigga Sigurdardottir further added that this is only one of the activities that they have planned to celebrate Pride. The celebrations are going to be organised throughout the UK, which includes decorating numerous Santander branches and creating rainbow-themed menus in their staff restaurants, taking part in Pride marches and so on.

This Pride, they look forward to celebrating London’s diversity and showing that the city is open to all people, irrespective of their religion, background, gender, race, age, sexuality or disability.
